Improv auditions will continue this week on Wednesday and Friday after school, auditioning students are encouraged to check the updated schedule by Drama Room door.

There will be a jack. org meeting today, Oct. 5 at lunch in room C229.

There will be a yearbook meeting for all students interested in joining on Tuesday, October 11th at lunch in room A317.

The HWHS Multicultural Show is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, November 30 and we are looking for performers to show off the amazing cultural diversity here at the West!

If you wish to showcase your rich cultural heritage through dance, music or some other performance medium, we want to hear from you! We are also looking for students who wish to help out as emcees for the event.

A sign-up sheet for the Multicultural Show has been posted on the call board in the Performing Arts hallway and there will be a very important meeting for all those wishing to be involved on Wednesday, October 12 at lunchtime in room C225.

There will be a meeting for those interested in participating in the annual Wake-a-thon today at lunch in room C144. We hope to see you there.
For all those interested there will be an environment committee meeting today at lunch in room c123.

This Thursday, October 6th, the volunteerism committee will be having a meeting open to everyone. If you want to get involved with student government and the volunteerism committee this is your chance. Come to room c145 this Thursday at lunch.
If you are interested in trying out for the girls basketball team please sign up for open gym time and tryout updates on the signup sheet outside the gym.
Yesterday in boys "A" soccer play, the west boys were led by three Grade 10's in a 7-0 win over Lockview.  Rookies Abdul Wurie, Abdul Nimer and Wisdom Gbeve found the back of the net as did second year player Abdullah Bajeunaid. Armando Bocanelo had the shutout.The boys return to action tomorrow 4pm at mainland versus Auburn High.
Students wanting to go to the Dalhousie Powwow on Thursday October 6th remember your consent form. You can drop it off to the librarian today or to Ms. Graveline Thursday morning. Thursday morning please come down to the front entrance at 9:40 am. A tip - leave your heavy bags in your locker or in Ms. Graveline's office.

Reminder, it is Mi'kmaq History Month, time to learn a few Mi'kmaw words. Look for the poster and words in the main foyer. Ms. Graveline will put two new ones each day she is here. Also on Friday 7, 21, 28 she will be offering some Indigenous teachings/crafting in the seminar room at lunch and the periods before and after lunch. All welcome. 

The Cross Country running team is asked to see Ms. Brennan at the beginning of lunch today to discuss the cross country meet in Dartmouth tomorrow.  Anyone needing drives must see Ms. Brennan.

All applications for leaders in Model Parliament are due this Friday, Oct. 7. Please consult our website for details or get an application from the main office.
