Invitation to Participate in Research Study - African Immigrant Secondary Students

Lawrence Nyika, Ph D Candidate from St. Francis Xavier University has permission from the Halifax Regional School Board and Halifax West High School to seek volunary participants in a reseach study he is conducting for his Ph D.  Mr. Nyika is studying African immigrant secondary school students' participation in health promoting schools from a nova scotian perspective.

The purpose of this research is to learn more about how the African immigrant secondary school students think and feel about their participation in health promoting schools, as well as their health beliefs, values, and practices.  This study is funded by the Nova Scotia Health Reseach Foundation.

There are information packages in the main office for those who would like to participate.

Participants must be between 15 and 18 years old, who identify as African and migrated to Canada within the last 10 years from any country in Africa, the Caribbean Region, or elsewhere.

Details are in the participant package as well as details about $50 gift certificate incentive for participants.
