Welcome Week continues with our Fruit by the Foot challenge taking place today at lunch in the caf. Tomorrow will be jersey day. Be sure to take part in these fun activities! If you want to be informed on upcoming spirit days and events, there will be a sign up sheet posted on the spirit bulletin board in the caf to receive text message reminders from our very own spirit committee. 

Best Buddy applications are in the office. Remember to hand in your application no later than Thursday, September 14th as interviews will be held Friday, September 15th and Monday, September 18th at lunch time in Mme Haywards room.

The Halifax West Interact Club is a student volunteer and leadership group that organizes many fundraisers for local and international causes throughout the year. Our annual events that you might be familiar with include Purple Pinky Day with the Bill and Melinda Gates Malaria Foundation, and Angel Giving Tree. The first meeting will be today at lunch in room C329. This is an information meeting so everyone is welcome to drop in and see if you're interested.

Attention Grade 10! Halifax West will travel to France and Spain next March Break! Highlights will include Paris, Vimy Ridge and Barcelona!  There will be an information meeting to discuss trip details on today at the beginning of lunch in Room B324. Limited spots are available, so you can secure your spot on a first come, first served basis as early as Monday night. ​​

The cafeteria is looking for two students to help out in the cafeteria at lunch.  The café is offering free lunch up to $5.00 for the student(s) chosen for the position.

Boys Soccer game today at 4 pm Mainland common vs SJA.

There will be an important boys’ soccer meeting today at 12:25 in the seminar room for all players whose names are on the roster.

Tryouts for the Halifax West Baseball Team will take place this Wednesday and Thursday at 3:30 @ Westridge Field.

The girls’ soccer team went undefeated this weekend in the Harrison Trimble Soccer Tournament in Moncton. The girls played four games, ranking in 26 goals scored and 0 against. The gold medal game was unfortunately cancelled due to thunder and lightning.

Congratulations to the Warriors football team in winning their opening game of the season against Sydney Academy 35-0 in Sydney Saturday night. Offensive player of the game was Vid Ferrer and Defensive player of the game was Niko Davies. Our next game is this Thursday 4:30pm against Sir John A at their field.
