Grade 12 students are invited to sign up for information session in the guidance office.  These sessions will explore topics relevant to post-secondary training and include:  Commerce and Arts, Upgrading, Engineering, Science and Nursing, Applying Online, Scholarships and Financing and NSCC.  The workshops will be offered in all blocks.  The sessions started on October 11 and will be finished on November 16th.

There will be a jack.org meeting on Wednesday at lunch in room C229.

Could all of the students who plan to attend the Dalhousie Tour with Mr. Scott on Wednesday please bring in your permission slips today and hand them into the office. 

Congratulations to our girls soccer team for finishing first overall in the metro girls soccer league.  They defeated Lockview last night 8-0.  Leading the way was Brooke Marriott with 2 goals, Jayden Boudreau with 2 goals, Lucy Poole with 2 goals, Alex Doane and Claire MacDougall add one a piece to round out the scoring.  The girls records was 10-0 in the regular season.  Go Warriors!

Student Government will be hosting a fundraiser spaghetti dinner on Tuesday October 25th from 5 to 9pm at the Lower Deck on Lacewood Drive. It will feature performances from Jack Murtha, Will Robbins, Jacob Hatfield, Ethan Protheroe and Angelo Hollett. Tickets are on sale in the caf for $10.00. Don’t forget to bring your friends!

There are now donation jars in your D block classes as well as the main office in support of the Haiti crisis. Please bring in some change to help us help Haiti.

It’s that time of year again! It’s almost Halloween and that means pod decorating is upon us. Along with your A block classes, get out and get creative! Judging of the decorations will take place on Monday October 31st and the best pod will receive an ice cream party! Happy decorating everyone!

This Friday is going to be pyjama day! So don’t forget to wear your PJ’s or comfy clothes!

The Halifax West arts committee will be meeting Wednesday at lunch in room C144. If you want to get involved with arts at the west then come on down, all are welcome!

There will be choir today and every Tuesday at lunch in the music room.  Bring your food if you wish, singing starts at 12:40.

Attention all cadets and reservists!  If you would like to be part of our school Remembrance Day ceremony please see Mr. Burtt in the music room sometime this week.  That's anyone involved in the Cadet program or the Armed Forces Reserves.

Boys Basketball tryouts start this Friday 3:30-5:00, Sunday Oct 23rd 10:00-11:30 am, and Monday Oct 24th 6:30-8:00 pm all in the gym.

Girls Basketball tryouts start this Friday 5:00-630 pm, Sunday Oct 23rd 8:30-10:00 am, and Monday Oct 24th 5:00-6:30pm all in the gym
